Loba – Apex Guide: Strengths and Weaknesses
Loba is a high-class burglar. She can easily find top-tier loot and escape with ease. If a 3rd party decides to swoop in, Loba can easily maneuver out of harm’s way and into a better fighting position. Don’t let her looks fool you, this legend could be out of ammo one second and then take all nearby ammo in an instant with her ultimate ability.
While Loba does have many perks, she does tend to give away her position to nearby enemy teams. If not played correctly, this can ultimately hurt you and your team. If you are aware of this and plan accordingly, then you should be fine as long as you move quickly. Use this legend as the thief she is and steal away the win from your opponents and watch them crumble.
Loba – Apex Guide: Abilities Overview
We know Loba is seen as a burglar. Snatching loot in her surrounding area in an instant, escaping without a trace, a true artist. Her abilities give her a unique advantage over others to gather better guns and equipment faster. Let’s look at what Loba brings to the table.
- Passive: Eye For Quality
- Nearby Epic and Legendary loot can be seen through walls. The range is the same as the Black Market Boutique.
- Tactical: Burglar’s Best Friend
- Teleport to hard-to-reach places or escape trouble quickly by throwing your Jump Drive bracelet.
- Ultimate: Black Market Boutique
- Place a portable device that allows you to teleport nearby loot to your inventory. Each friendly or enemy Legend can take up to two items.
Eye For Quality Tips (Passive)
Loba’s passive ability, Eye For Quality, gives her the unique ability to see Epic and Legendary loot through walls, so long as they are within a certain range. This gives Loba and her team a great opportunity early game to find better weapons and equipment to dominate early fights and take over their landing spots.
Not only the early game but this because essential mid-game is you and your team had a rough start at landing. After clearing your landing area, you can move to a location where Loba spots more Epic and Legendary items. Eye For Quality is also great for seeing if loot has been taken and gives you an understanding of the fight you’re about to enter.
Burglar’s Best Friend Tips (Tactical)
Loba’s Jump Drive bracelet makes her a true escape artist. This ability give her a great way to get away from enemies trying to rush in or 3rd party. When you activate this ability, you toss your bracelet a rather far distance, and once it lands that is where you teleport. There is a short delay from when you teleport to when you can start shooting again.
Things you might not have known about Loba’s Burglar’s Best Friend:
- When your bracelet is flying through the air, it leaves a trail very easily seen by anyone. Try to throw your Jump Drive away from the enemy line of sight when deciding where to teleport.
- You can actually cut your teleport short. Simply press your ability button again while your bracelet is in mid-flight and you’ll teleport directly to the ground underneath the bracelet’s location.
- After you have teleported, you are slightly delayed when pulling out your gun and therefore cannot shoot immediately. Take this into mind when you choose a location to teleport.
- As of Season 9, you will have full movement controls while waiting on your Jump Drive to land. Use this to your advantage by evading gunfire and taking the least amount of damage possible.
- Wattson’s ultimate, Interception Pylon, will grab your bracelet mid-flight and return it to you. Horizon’s Black Hole and Gravity Lift will redirect your bracelet and could end up putting you in an unwanted location.
Black Market Boutique Tips (Ultimate)
Loba’s Black Market Boutique is useful if you’re in need of upgraded gear, a better weapon, or ammunition. When you activate Black Market you will be able to loot 2 items (weapons, weapon attachments, healing items, etc) and as much ammo as needed. This ultimate can give you and your team the boost necessary for victory.
Things you might not have known about Loba’s Black Market Boutique:
- When you deploy your Black Market, there is a large blue blast that can be seen by nearby enemies. Be aware of this and secure your location before deploying. Otherwise, grab your items quickly and be ready for an attack.
- The Black Market cannot grab anything inside of closed vaults, but if you see a care package landing and an enemy team is going for it, you can drop your Black Market and attempt to steal the items from it as soon as they open the supply drop.
- Be sure to pick up your Black Market by using your alternate interact button. This will prevent opposing teams from being able to use it.
- Grabbing ammo does not count towards your 2 item limit, so stock up!
- Your Black Market is the same range as your Eye For Quality, so when you drop it you can grab anything you currently see through the walls.
- It takes 4 seconds to place the Black Market and start using it.
Loba – Apex Guide: Tips and Tricks
Lastly, I want to go over some tips and tricks you should be aware of while playing Crypto. Try to apply these in each of your matches going forward.
- Communication is key. If you are separated from your team and use your Black Market, give them some callouts. Let them know what ammo, guns, and items are in there that they might use. Doing this could save time looting and prevent getting rushed by another team.
- Be a champion with your gun skills. Loba is not much of an offensive or defensive legend. Since she is loot-based, you need to focus more on your gun skill and movement when it comes to fights. You won’t get by using her abilities through her Jump Drive is nice for flanking or evading.
- Use the Jump Drive bracelet strategically. Don’t simply use the bracelet to escape gunfire every time. Use it to your advantage. Try to get high ground on an incoming team or try to go for the flank while your teammates do the distracting. Using different tactics in your fights can through off opponents and will give you the upper hand.
