We all want to know how to win every game in Arena. When looking into Apex Arena team comps, you can’t base it off of the classic Battle Royale mode. Most ultimate abilities are rendered useless as they are high-cost items in the Arena mode and some are completely useless as well. Wraith is arguably the most picked legend in Battle Royale and her ultimate in Arena is a huge waste to purchase when there are more vital items to buy.
Also, be on the lookout for what map is selected. Some of these comps work better on certain maps and knowing the top strategies for each map plays a big factor in your games. It’s worth noting that each of these team comps require communication so keep that in mind if you go into Arena solo and no one is talking.
Octane, Revenant, Crypto
This team is based on high speed, visibility, and denying team abilities. This team is dependent on Crypto using his drop to locate enemies at the start. Some teams will even be very distracted by his drone and focus on it. At this time, Octane and Revenant need to take action and run in. Crypto can now use his ult to slow the enemy team dealing 50 shield damage to each of them. By this time, Octane and Revenant have made it to their targets. Revenant can now disable the enemy’s abilities and Crypto can now rotate in. All 3 members of your team should now be grabbing easy kills to finish the round off quickly.
That’s just one half of the pie. Use this next strategy and never use another team comp again. We will use Crypto’s drone again to locate the enemy team at the start. Once the team is identified then it’s go time. Activate Revenant’s Death Totem and have Octane throw down the LaunchPad. Everyone uses the death totem and launches towards the enemy team dealing as much damage as possible. If you are all killed in action, once you respawn go ahead and launch towards the enemy again before they heal up to finish them off.
Bangalore, Caustic, Bloodhound
This is going to be your Cover Fire Squad. The whole point of this squad is to constantly break line of sight with the enemy with either smoke grenades or gas traps. When the enemy team decides to come running towards you, all you need to do is have Caustic gas traps set up and Bangalore smokes ready to launch. Once the smokes and gas traps are activated, it’s time for Bloodhound to scan the area for easy kills.
As a team, try to focus on one of the enemies to get a quick knock, and then you can focus your efforts on the other two. This will leave your team in an easier situation with it being a 3v2. There are a few things you could add to this strategy to make it even better. If you have the funds available, go ahead and upgrade your gun to get a Digital Threat sight so you don’t have to rely so heavily on Bloodhound’s scan. Go ahead and also get Caustic and Bloodhound’s ultimate for added support. This will surely crush any team that tries running towards you.
Rampart, Wattson, Gibraltar
This team will supply you with all your defensive needs. The main idea behind this comp is the gather up and build a fortress. Maps like Phaserunner will make this team pretty useless but more close-quarter maps will make this team impenetrable. Use Rampart to place walls up at your desired location. The more walls the better in my opinion. Rampart’s ultimate, Sheila, is a great asset for fighting long-range or if enemies try to invade your fortress.
Gibraltar is your go-to for grabbing a position and initiating the process of securing your location. This team’s main focus is to get inside the center of the safe zone and barricade it up. If the safe zone so happens to move away from you, then Gibraltar’s dome will provide plenty of cover to rotate and build up your last base of defense.
Wattson can put up her electric fences but her main purpose is to get her Ultimate. Once you deploy her ult it will block any incoming grenades and heal your team’s shields over time. This is essential because in the later rounds the enemy will most likely adapt to your defensive playstyle and try to use throwables to lure you out. With Wattson’s ult, this will eliminate that scenario.
Wraith, Gibraltar, Octane
This team comp is all about mobility and aggression. Wraith and Octane will be your mobility legends who will either go to separate sides to flank or run in together while Gibraltar lays down cover fire. This is very effective in early rounds to get an early lead.
If your team ends up needing to rotate towards the enemy in the open, Gibraltar’s dome will protect any incoming fire from the opposing team. Gibraltar is great on these high-mobility teams because he offers great protection. If things start to get rough and your team needs a quick escape, have Gibraltar throw down another dome and rotate to safety. There’s no need to buy Wraith ult on this team due to Gibraltar’s dome and the high cost of her ult.
Valkyrie, Lifeline, Horizon
This team is also mobility-based but is more focused on positioning and angles. Valkyrie and Lifeline both have great passives that are vital to this team comp. With Valkyrie, her passive regenerates over time and gives her the distinct advantage to get higher angles much quicker than other legends. This serves as a great way to pressure the enemy team early on and is also great for pushes.
If the opposing team is in a higher angle position, you can actually rush this team with Valkyrie on one side and Lifeline and Horizon on the other. Horizon can throw her ability down to seamlessly lift her and Lifeline into position, while Valkyrie is on the other side using her jetpack to get into position as well. This makes for a great split-flank team in Arena.
Lifeline is just an added bonus on her team. Her heal bot is great since this is a more aggressive team and damage is likely to be taken. If things get even stickier, her passive is nice to pick up downed teammates while the fight continues. Some teams will try to go for an early-round Lifeline ult to get a loaded weapon but this can be a gamble and should not be your go-to.
